Kathmandu, Nov 1 : Leader of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP), Bamdev Gautam, said socialism would be established in the country through competitive multi-party democracy.
At a greetings exchange programme organised by Madan Bhandari Foundation here Friday on the occasion of Bada Dashain, Tihar, Nepal Sambat and Chhath festivals, leader Gautam said, “We could reach to communism adopting socialism through competitive multiparty democracy. We should establish socialism on the basis of ideological thoughts evolved in our own country. Marxism and Leninism, he said, are philosophy related thoughts. These thoughts cannot give concrete outlets to the country.
The NCP leader further said that ideological thoughts of the party would be adopted as per the agreement in course of party unification.
According to him, conclusion on the guiding principle of the party would be drawn by the unity general convention. “Next force should also be respected in party unification,” he suggested.
Leader Gautam suggested that the Foundation forwarded thoughts of Madan Bhandari by keeping party unification in mind.
Similarly, Foundation Chairperson Usha Kiran Bhandari laid emphasis on retaining the ideology forwarded by Madan Bhandari by the party even after unification.
